Founded in 1949, Flintridge Guild is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization supporting Children’s Hospital Los Angeles in their mission of providing complex, life-changing and life-saving care for every child they treat, regardless of their circumstances. We take pride in the awareness and funds we have raised for CHLA over the past several decades. For this, we credit the dedication and hard work of our members, past and present.
Currently, our donations fund the projects of the Associates Chair in Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine, and the Associates Chair in Ophthalmology.
Associates Chair in Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine
CHLA is one of the most experienced pediatric pulmonology and sleep medicine centers in the United States. Since 1974, their experts have provided world-class care for the full spectrum of common and complex breathing and lung disorders in children. The hospital is also home to one of the first programs in the country to establish a Sleep Center focused exclusively on helping children with sleep disorders. Dr. Lara Bishay is the Associates Chair in Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine, effective Jan 1, 2026. Under her leadership, the Division of Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine achieved significant progress in expanding access to care and driving innovation, including in the following areas:

Ranking among the nation’s largest and most comprehensive pediatric ophthalmology programs, the Vision Center at CHLA brings together a team whose depth of expertise positions them to treat some of the rarest and most challenging eye conditions. Under the leadership of Thomas C. Lee, MD, Associates Chair in Ophthalmology, and a widely recognized expert in this field, the Vision Center team has broadened access to care, namely in the following areas:
